Austrian Cooking Plum-Pofesen

For 4 people:

8 rolls from the previous day
200 g original Aachener Pflümli Plum Puree
1/2 l milk
2 eggs (medium size)
1 packet vanilla sugar
2 dessertsp clarified butter
1 packet of vanilla sauce as well as sugar and milk according to packet instructions
2 dessertsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method:
  1. Grate the crust of the rolls, put the breadcrumbs on one side, cut the rolls in half lengthways. Make a cut in each half and fill with the original Aachener Pflümli Plum Puree.
  2. Whisk the eggs and half of the vanilla sugar with milk. Dip the rolls in this until they are fully soaked. Take out and spread with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat the clarified butter, fry the rolls in this until golden brown.
  4. Meanwhile prepare the vanilla sauce according to packet instructions, and stir in the remaining vanilla sugar.
  5. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon. Spread this on the Pofesen and serve with warm vanilla sauce.
