Long-term sustainability

Nature is our most important supplier. Therefore sustainability and ecological management are our top priorities. At the same time, we take the highest responsibility for providing for our customers in terms of food safety and quality. We source fruits and other natural ingredients from suppliers around the world, with whom we have been working for many decades.

In our third sustainability report, which follows the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI G4), we show the steps which we have taken since 2011 until 2015 to meet this responsibility.

Our requirements, particularly ecological, go far beyond the international legal framework, and we guarantee that these requirements are strictly fulfilled by all partners. In order to ensure continuously high quality, we monitor our suppliers intensively regarding environmental and social criteria. Since 2012 we have been a full member of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), and have adapted to the protection of the environment and promotion of fair conditions of work in growing regions for 100 per cent sustainable palm oil. We reaffirm our strong commitment to sustainable business practices. We also we face constant monitoring by the relevant authorities and our customers.

We are constantly on the search for new technologies and procedures, in order to be able to better produce our products.

The entire production process from receiving goods to bottling is subject to the strictest, accurately defined testing and hygiene regulations. All raw materials, as well as our products, are carefully checked again and again in the different stages of production. Whether laser sorting or x-ray control, our process-accompanying quality assurance system as well as our own (for the most part) sophisticated production technology is recognised in the industry as a leader and an example. We have passed the certification in accordance with the national and international guidelines of the IFS (International Food Standard, Higher Level) and the FSSC (Food Safety System Certification 22000:2010) every year. In addition, we undergo regular customer audits with extensive testing catalogues.

We work intensively and continuously strive to make the production process more environmentally friendly. We actively look for innovative solutions, in order to reduce energy and water consumption, as well as the quantities of waste and waste water.

Of course, we reject all forms of discrimination and exploitation such as child labour, wage dumping and inhumane treatment, and also demand these principles of our business partners.

Sustainable management also includes open dialogue with customers and employees, as well as our social commitment, with which we particularly want to show our solidarity with the headquarters in Aachen.
